Belthangady demands justice for Sowjanya

Belthangady:Thousands of people had converged at Gundya on October 13, Sunday  to welcome the parents of Sowjanya and also Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi on their return to hometown after  participating in a TV interview in Bangalore and boldly revealing that the  real accused in the Sowjanya rape and murder case were shielded by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari.

The three were brought in a procession from Gundya to Belthangady where a protest was staged. Addressing the protestors, Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi said  the people will wage a huge protest if the  authorities fail to hand over the case to CBI. The real accused in the Sowjanya rape and murder case should be punished, he said. Continuing, he said we expected  a few people would be waiting for us on our return. But considering the large number of people present, we have realized that the people of Belthangady are supporting us in our fight.

Kemar seer Sri Esha Vittaladasa  Swamiji  said   some people had asked him to  shun his  saffron just because he had fought for  justice in Sowjanya case.

People from Bantwal, Venur, Uppinangady, Puttur and other places participated in the protest in large numbers.

Earlier, as the protest reached  Dharmasthala, the personnel of Sri Kshetra obstructed it resulting in a tense situation.  Hundreds of police who were present dispersed the crowd and brought the situation under control.
