Belthangady:Even as the government has made it clear
that it will wait until the CID completes investigation into the Sowjanya case and submits its report, there is mounting pressure on it
to entrust the case to the CBI by suspending the CID probe.
Already the Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera has received over 300 phone calls urging for a CBI probe into the case.
There is information that the MLA has been receiving calls from across the state as well as from abroad with people wanting the government to act fast and entrust the case to the CBI. It is learnt, the MLA has given a patient hearing to all the callers and has informed them that he has already written to the Chief Minister and Home Minister. It is learnt, the MLA has been receiving calls even till late night. Meantime, some miscreants too have been calling the MLA just for the sake of harassment.
The MLA has also received nearly 600 SMSs urging for a CBI probe.
The telephone numbers of the MLA, State Chief Minister, Home Minister and DGP were put up in social networking site Facebook urging people to call or SMS with an appeal for CBI probe into the case.
