State Authorities Discontinue Free Ration to Policemen

Bangalore: The heat of Anna Bhagya Programme has hit the police department, because the state authorities discontinued the free distribution of grains that was granted to lower class police personnel.

The state authorities used to distribute 15 kilograms of rice and 3 kilograms of wheat as monthly free ration to the families of sub-inspector and lower ranking police personnel. It has been stalled abruptly beginning from this month.
Since the ambitious programme Anna Bhagya has been introduced beginning from this month, the stocks of rice and wheat that were meant for supplies to police are being pooled towards supplying to BPL families, informed the officials at food and civil supplies department.

The former Dy.CM R Ashok said that its an injustice to police force as the state administration will not provide canteen facilities at police stations.

The state home minister George said that he has no idea why the ration was discontinued, but appropriate action will be taken after reviewing the issue, said minister George.
